Petition of Cambodians living abroad to the United Nations and the United States regarding the Thai government use of military force to invade ...

To: Everyone

We, the undersigned Cambodians and Cambodian Americans living abroad, would like to submit this petition to the United Nations and to the United States of America to request the support for withdrawal of the Thai military and paramilitary from Cambodia’s Preah Vihear and the surrounding agreed disputed regions.
After the decision by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to include Preah Vihear temple as one of its World Heritage Sites on July 07, 2008, the Thai government sent hundreds of military and paramilitary forces to occupy one of Cambodia’s Buddhist temples called “Keo Sekha Kiri Svarak or Preah Vihear temple” located within the region of Preah Vihear temple and refused to withdrawal these forces even after requested by Cambodian government. Instead these military forces have been increased daily.

High school exam 2008

Here is a news from Kohsantepheap newspaper about the bad situation of high school exam this year: http://www.kohsantepheapdaily.com.kh/khmer/exam06_08.htm

Some corruption was found in Battambang, but it is not an only place; as I am also experience as a student, I can guess most of the exam rooms in Cambodia are in such situation, giving money to teacher...


I am always interesting with the education news especially related to the high school exam.
This year (2008), the exam start from 04-06 Aug. The result will publish on 29 Aug.

One is my wish, I do hope that there is no any corruption during the exam, I know it's hard to control and even students, they are afraid of failing, it's normal. But if the education system is strong enough, the rule (discipline) at school is valuable and practical well, students will be experience with it and they will try hard enough for their studies.

That's only way to strengthen first teachers, and especially the leader of education system...

Recently the issue with border between Cambodia and Thailand becomes so hard to restore, I think only the way to International Court of Justice (UN) should help to solve fairly such issues.
